Week 12 Modulation

 


  • Notes taken in your own words during readings and lectures (4-5 bullet points)

  • Performance video. Find a piece of music that has a modulation. Record a short video of yourself performing the piece. Include the sheet music in your blog, with the modulation highlighted. See example below.

      an invention is a contrapuntal work most usually written for two or three voices.     Modal Mixture

    Modal Mixture The "mixing" or "borrowing" of parallel modes from each other is known as modal mixture. Mixture mostly happens in major keys. When the bIII and bVII chords are "borrowed" from the parallel minor scale. Common mixtures are those that include a flat 6th.
