A scale is a list of all the notes in a key. Major scales all follow the same interval pattern.
- A major scale is simply a sequence of eight notes that has two important characteristics: it consisting of all of the seven letter names in alphabetical order and ending on the same letter as the one started on, such as CDEFGABC or EFGABCDE
- There are 12 major scales in total.
- There is a specific order of sharps and flats in major key signatures.
