Major Scales and Keys WEEK 4

Week 4 - Major Scales and Major Keys

Notes

A scale is a list of all the notes in a key. Major scales all follow the same interval pattern.
  • A major scale is simply a sequence of eight notes that has two important characteristics:  it consisting of all of the seven letter names in alphabetical order and ending on the same letter as the one started on, such as CDEFGABC or EFGABCDE
  • There are 12 major scales in total.
  • There is a specific order of sharps and flats in major key signatures.
